Dean & Kyla opened the lodge to 23 kids from Zion Baptist Church in Minneapolis within 24 hrs. They were renamed Uncle Dean and Mom. I love them and so do the kids. I cried when I had to leave definately will recommend this place. In fact we will be having a womens retreat there in the spring.

THANK YOU. The resort beautiful. Kyla and Dean great people,
so friendly. Lets not forget thier wonderful dog Zoe.
My husband Jeff and I came up to the resort with our cousin
Dave ( who has been going up there for years).We also brought
our 2 dogs. Lets just say we had a great time and we are planning
on going back. We had a good time fishing and relaxing.

Dora Lake Lodge is one of the best places that I have
been to in Minnesota!!!! Kyla and Dean are AWESOME!!!! I
feel this is yet another example of Minnesota nice. If you
get the chance to visit this area of Minnesota do so and

My husband and I just returned from a one-week stay at
Dora Lake Lodge and if you are looking for a place to stay
that is quiet, serene, with beautiful scenery, great fishing,
clean and reasonably priced cabins, then Dora Lake Lodge
is the place you want to be. Our hosts Kyla, Dean and Zoe
were very accommodating and friendly. My husband and I will
definitely be returning to Dora Lake Lodge whenever we get

I have enjoyed Dora Lake Lodge now for 5 years... 2007
being the 5th year. I hunt bear in the Dora Lake area. The
week I get to spend with Kyla & Dean makes the other 51

I have been coming to Dora Lake Lodge for the
last 16 years and every year it seems to get better. I originally
started coming here with my good friend Bob Earl and his family
and my father. I have now had my whole family - wife, kids, & inlaws
up here to fish and it has been great. I have a lifetime of
memories up here at Dora. We have never had a bad fishing year
and I don't think we ever will... Dean & Kyla have done
a great job with the resort and I am already counting the days
until we come up again - 44 days left. We can't wait...

Believe it or not, 90-some years ago, my grandmother
was born in the woods around Dora Lake. Although her family
moved away when she was a little girl, when she married and
had a family of her own, they went back to the resort for vacations.
My dad caught his first pike there when he was ten, and I believe
Dad took us for the first time when my brother and I were 9
and 11, and of course, we caught our first pike. We have made
the trip almost every year since then. Last year, my brother
took his boy when he turned 9 and we had a great time! Dora
Lake has been a member of our family for almost a century and
is the only place we will consider for a fishing vacation!
Everyone we bring falls in love with Dora and cannot wait to
get back. The Haags have done a fantastic job with the resort
and are wonderful hosts, as well as great Cub fans!!

My family has been going
to Dora Lake Lodge for over thirty years. Dean and Kyla are
the third owners through those years. My son, Ryan and I
hunt deer every year, him since he was 12. He is now 32.
Dora Lake Lodge is what the northland is all about. For me
it's a "has to" every year.

"While I had never ever caught a fish,
nor gone fishing, I was very excited to go up north and get
away from it all. Not only did my family and myself have a
great time relaxing, fishing, boating and socializing, we were
treated like royalty! Words can not describe the beautiful

marvelous and it was just so great to get away. It didn't work
out for my family to make it up there this year, but we WILL

Dora Lake Lodge is truly beautiful and relaxing.
If you love the outdoors this is the place for you. My daughter
loved fishing and listening to the loons. I never heard her
say that she was bored - pretty good for an eight year old.
And you can't beat the hospitality of Dean and Kyla. We were
truly blessed to spend our vacation with them this year and

My husband and I spent a week at Dora Lake

I just spent my second vacation at Dora Lake. When
I phoned Kyla and Dean this year expressing my anxiety about
leaving my dog Cloe behind, they encouraged me to bring her along.
I'm not sure who had more fun, me or my dog! Cloe and I were
welcomed with open arms. The fishing was great, the scenery is
awesome. It's a wonderful place to relax and reconnect with yourself

Anyone wanting to relax and get away from the
city life, Dora Lake Lodge is the place to go. The hospitality
is nothing short of being great. My wife and I spent 2 weeks
in June of 2005, I went back in July of that year with my son
and his family, had a great time. Then my wife and I went back
in 2006. Fishing is good, the the scenery is great. You've
